Wildlife In West Wales
Cardigan Bay has the largest resident pod of Bottlenose Dolphins in the UK and grey seals also make their home in these waters, together with a host of different sea birds.
Further afield you can see puffins on Skomer and Ramsey Island. Boat trips are regularly available to see the Dolphins and seals from Gwbert and New Quay. It is also possible to see Dolphins from the top of the hill at Mwnt and from the coast at New Quay. There are lots of different land birds to see in this part of West Wales, including the Red Kite which is a magnificent bird of prey with its reddish-brown body, angled wings and deeply forked tail. Buzzards can be seen regularly too.
